March Favourites

You are being treated with two Stash posts this week, but I’ve recently been trying a lot of new products that I don’t normally have in rotation that I thought you should know about!

I was lucky enough to attend Make Up Revolution’s 2nd Birthday Party at Cafe de Paris and came away with a goody bag STASHED with new products.

The first product, from the goodies I was given, that I now love is this Rose Gold lipstick in Diamond Life. You can see a picture of me wearing it on my Insta. It’s a dark pink/purple with a satin finish. It’s super glamorous and obviously the bullet is cute AF. Plus it’s £3 and you’re basically robbing them by paying that little.

I’ve been highlighting/contouring for a while now as I find it truly transforms my odd shaped alien face. This Strobe Cream from Freedom Make Up has worked its way into my routine as it gives a subtle strobe along the cheekbones and my eyebrow bones. I put it on top of my foundation and have noticed a lovely difference in how hydrated my skin looks.

This beast of a palette, the Pro Artist Pad in ‘Black Arts’, is also by Freedom make up, which is Make Up Revolution’s professional MUA range. It comes in a ‘black book’ which make it looks like a tablet. It holds 48 Shades including some ridick gorge nudes, smokeys, mattes and shimmers. Basically the only palette I can ever envisage using. And at the moment it’s only £10. You know what to do.

Two weeks ago I was invited to Liberty for a Dermalogica launch. I caught up with blog buddies and listened to lifestyle gurus rave about the benefits of charcoal – there are a lot. Especially its ability to absorb toxins from your body and get rid of them.

With this in mind, they’ve created the Charcoal Rescue Masque.

Dermalogica therapists mapped my skin and told me that I suffered from hormonal break outs on my chin and along my jaw line but dehydration on my forehead and nose. They recommended the charcoal masque for the bottom half of my face and a moisturising one for my forehead. As soon as I got home from the event, I whacked the charcoal goodness on my face and HOLY HELL my skin felt amazing once I rinsed it off. I am going to try and use it twice a week to see if there’s an improvement. And probs snapchat myself wearing it and looking FRESH.

Finally,  last week I went along to Miller Harris, the perfumier, in London with Hayley and the other 30 Plus blog gals for the launch of their latest fragrance – Vetiver Insolent.

We were given a tour of the store by the lovely and knowledgable assistants who told us all about the company and this new scent.

Now, I have NO clue when it comes to fragrances and a lot of the information went over my head, but what I can say about this scent is that it’s completely unisex and smells differently on each individual person – which makes it almost bespoke. At £65 for a 50ml bottle, you get a perfume that smells SO grown up and luxurious. I was even complimented on it, on the train, on the way home. On me, it’s light but spicy which is not what I normally wear. However, I’ve now worn it a few times and it stays and develops during the day which is great for me.

Whilst at Miller Harris, I tried every single perfume and my favourites have to be a combination of Le Jasmin and Rose Silence. I basically smelled of a fruity gin and tonic and I couldn’t have been in a happier place.

So that’s where I’ve been in March and what I’ve been lucky enough to add to my collection! All of these pieces have been gifted but as usual, the tripe is my own.

Follow me on Snapchat (vixmeldrew) to see what I’ll get up to in April!
