Why everyone needs Blogger buddies

I’ve just got back from spending a weekend in Leeds with some of the best bloggers on the block for the Bloggers Blog Awards. My, that’s mighty alliteration there.

Whilst on this trip I really appreciated hanging with other bloggers and got thinking about why everyone needs a blog friend.

Hanging with Hannah, Katy, Jordan, Lauren, Freya, Charlotte, Becky and Laura all weekend was alright I spose.

They don’t judge. Want to brag about your all expense paid cottage stay? Girl wants to listen. Want to spend 20 minutes perfecting your Instagram grid? Great! She’ll stay quiet so you can concentrate. Being with other bloggers who understand why you need to be surgically attached to your phone is a relief from those real life folk who start bandying around negative words like ‘addiction’ and ‘square-eyes’ and ‘early onset arthritis’.

They’re supportive. Every award winner and runner up was cheered with gusto and everyone was genuinely happy for one another at the Bloggers Blog Awards. We also then spent the rest of the evening chatting about the devastating feeling of low page views and the utter highs of your friends and family being on board with your blog which was nice.

They understand. So your pizza has gone cold because you needed to wait until you had the absolute perfect flat-lay set up. Who cares? You once spent an evening crying over how shit your blog design is – they have too! It always surprises me, just how much in common I have with fellow bloggers. We’ve all been through the same struggles at some point in our blogspan and everyone has different but helpful advice on how to get through it.

This beaut.

They know just what to say. Bloggers are great at pretending that they’ve read each other’s latest posts or stalked each other’s instagrams, even if they haven’t.Ā  They also then know how to completely flatter your ego by smothering you in compliments about said posts. And even if you know they haven’t really stalked your Twitter all morning, it still gives you the warm fuzzies.

Finally got to meet Emma!

Bloggers. You’re the best.

Thanks to Hayley for organising a great weekend.

I totally agree with this! When I started my blog back in June I soon realise that my friends, family and colleagues in the real world didnt get it. I started it for myself, to give me something to focus on away from my health issues but It has become the most amazing way to make friends. I went to my first blogger event in July and then another in August and I loved that i coud take photos of EVERYTHING with no judgement! Heres to bloggers for being the most amazingly supportive people on earth

These photos are lovely! You look fantastic, and so does everyone! Seems like the best weekend ever! SO wish I could’ve gone, ah well! I realised how important it is to have blogging friends, they understand EVERYTHING! Want to rant about your blog photos/layout/etc? They’ll listen! Blogging friends are the best! I love dropping other bloggers a Twitter dm/comment! xx

How AMAZING were those sweet potato fries and the dip with them! ?
This was my first event and although I entered and stood like a lemon not knowing what to do at first I met some really cool people . . Some I knew online and some I didn’t know at all, but then there were some I didn’t get round to at all, but that’s ok because think everyone had that issue! x

Love this post Vix! Despite the awards themselves being super exciting I was most looking forward to spending time with other bloggers and I wasn’t disapointed at all. It’s so nice to have a support network of friends that ‘get’ your creative outlet. The anecdotes in this post made me smile…especially about the food flatlays. We’ve all been there when friends start sighing as you snap away haha. Can’t wait to catch up again soon.

Aww this was so lovely and I completely agree! When I went to the Bloggers Festival it was such a relief to spend the day with like minded people who didn’t mind you taking photos/videos of everything. Bloggers are so supportive of each other too! So wish I was at the awards, it looks like you had an awesome time šŸ™‚ xx

Blog friends are the BEST. There are a lot of people out there who don’t understand blogging, what it involves and why we do it, so it’s a massive breath of fresh air to hang out with people who just get you. And who don’t mind waiting for you to take photos of everything before they can eat/touch/move it… xx

Blogging friends are amazing- I find that when I talk to my friends and family etc about blogging, they just don’t get it but blogging friends always do! You all looked like you had a fab time last weekend and it sounded like an amazing event. Personally, I’m trying to work on my shyness- I always find it hard to talk to other "bigger" bloggers on Twitter etc haha, I don’t even know why!
